Our Story
How we got started…
Warrior at Heart Ministry (WAHM) was founded in 2006, as a 501(c)3, not for profit organization. The ministry was created when a small group of men, meeting weekly over a cup of coffee, obeyed God’s call to inspire all men to become leaders of their families, their churches, and their community.
Since its inception, hundreds of men have benefited from WAHM’s life-changing boot camps, weekly breakfasts, outdoor activities, and one-on-one discipleship. Using the Word of God as it’s foundation and drawing on some materials from John Eldredge’s book, “Wild at Heart”, the ministry has witnessed the repentance and the rededication of hundreds of men as they have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. To this day, men continue to be transformed into becoming the husbands, fathers, and leaders God intended them to be.
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
What we are up to these days…
WAHM continues to grow significantly every year reaching out to hundreds of men annually molding them into leaders in their homes and in the workplace.
We now have four Chapter locations that meet weekly in Mesa County. These Chapters meet for breakfast or dinner attracting 120+ men each week. More Chapters are planned for the future, including outside of our market.
We have scheduled four Boot Camps in 2016 at various locations isolated high in the mountains of Western Colorado. We’ve also done Boot Camps in Alaska and Loveland, CO along with requests to lead future camps in West Virginia and Montana.
We conduct one Advanced Camp per year for those who are more mature in their walk that are looking to take it to a new level.
We have done successful one-day Mini Camps challenging the men to discover their purpose and to carry out their calling.
We also have numerous events for men, couples, and/or families, such as “Family Campout”, “Hike a 14er”, “525 Dinner” (Honoring our wives from Ephesians 5:25), shotgun shoot, and “Prayer Walks” and Marriage Retreats.
